چکیده

Photoluminescent and electroluminescent studies of bilayer heterojunctions formed from a poly~pyridyl vinylene phenylene vinylene! ~PPyVPV! derivative and poly~vinyl carbazole! ~PVK! show an emission peak which cannot be ascribed to either the PPyVPV derivative or PVK layer. Through studies of absorption and photoluminescence excitation ~PLE! spectra we demonstrate that the additional feature results from an exciplex at the bilayer interface. The photoluminescence efficiency of the exciplex is greater than 20%. The electroluminescence spectrum from the bilayer devices is entirely due to exciplex emission, with internal efficiencies initially achieved exceeding 0.1%. © 1997 American Institute of Physics. @S0003-6951~97!00413-0#

Exciplex emission from bilayers of poly„vinyl carbazole... and pyridine based conjugated copolymers

We present photoluminescence and electroluminescence studies of bilayers and blends formed from poly~vinyl carbazole! ~PVK! and poly~pyridyl vinylene phenylene vinylene! ~PPyVPV! copolymer derivatives. Bilayers of PVK and the PPyVPV copolymers have a photoluminescence emission which cannot be assigned to either the photoluminescence of PVK or the PPyVPV layer. The blends of the two polymers sho...

Stimulated emission within the exciplex band by plasmonic-nanostructured polymeric heterojunctions.

Organic heterojunctions have been extensively employed in the design of light-emitting diodes, photovoltaic devices, and thin-film field-effect transistors, which can be achieved by constructing a bilayer or a multi-layered thin-film deposition, or by blending two or more organic semiconductors with different charge-transport performances. Charge transfer excited states or exciplex may form on ...

Tunable light emission by exciplex state formation between hybrid halide perovskite and core/shell quantum dots: Implications in advanced LEDs and photovoltaics.

We report the first observation of exciplex state electroluminescence due to carrier injection between the hybrid lead halide perovskite (MAPbI3-xClx) and quantum dots (core/shell PbS/CdS). Single layers of perovskite (PS) and quantum dots (QDs) have been produced by solution processing methods, and their photoluminescent properties are compared to those of bilayer samples in both PS/QD and QD/...

The First Tandem, All-exciplex-based WOLED

Exploiting our recently developed bilayer interface methodology, together with a new wide energy-gap, low LUMO acceptor (A) and the designated donor (D) layers, we succeeded in fabricating an exciplex-based organic light-emitting diode (OLED) systematically tuned from blue to red. Further optimization rendered a record-high blue exciplex OLED with η(ext) of 8%. We then constructed a device stru...

Red Phosphorescent Organic Light-Emitting Diodes Using Mixture System of Small-Molecule and Polymer Host

We study two types of polymer materials, poly(n-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) and starburst small-molecule 1,3,5-tris[4(diphenylamino)phenyl]benzene (TDAPB), as the host for electrophosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PHOLEDs) doped with red-emitting phosphor tris(1-phenylisoquinoline) iridium (III) [Ir(piq)3]. PHOLEDs employed a PVK and TDAPB blend as the host exhibited a maximum red light em...
